Barbara Walters made significant contributions in the news and public affairs section of the industry as a well-respected journalist and author. Her journey to the top started off with her early gig as a publicist and a writer for a magazine. She later found a job opening as a writer and researcher in The Today Show. Her exceptional talent allowed her to move to the next level and became a regular cast for the show.

Within a couple of years, she made history as the first woman to lead a news program. She later appeared in The View, 20/20 and ABC Evening News up until her retirement in 2015.
