VIRGINIA PATTON — 95 YEARS OLD
Virginia Patton was one of the actresses from the 1940s cinema. Although she never had a long list of movie credits with her name on it, she proved herself that she can compete with the top names in the industry. Patton is widely known for her portrayal of Ruth Dakin Bailey in the 1946 Christmas drama film It’s a Wonderful Life. Patton made only four movies after “It’s a Wonderful Life”, including her first film in B-Western Black Eagle.
In 1946, she appeared in the TV series “Burning Cross”, a film about a veteran of World War II who was deeply attracted by the Ku Klux Klan after returning to his hometown. She later starred in the comedy-crime movie The Lucky Stiff, which happened to be her final film appearance before she retired from acting. After working in Hollywood, she concentrated on raising her family and handling her investments, including the real estate company, The Patton Corp.
