TATYANA ALI

Tatyana Ali takes credit for portraying Will Smith’s on-screen cousin Ashley Banks on the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The Long Island native showed up in nearly every episode of the show and was a particular favorite of viewers everywhere. After her run on the aforementioned ‘90s show was over, Ali tried to earn some more entertainment credit in the music industry, but she eventually gave it up and went back to acting.

The ‘90s child star later joined the cast of the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless as Devon Hamilton’s recurring love interest Roxanne. Ali entered Harvard University and received a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies and Government in 2002. In 2008, she traveled to the United States as a spokesperson for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and at the same time led the voter registration work at university campuses.
